Virat Kohli becomes 2nd Indian to take 100 catches in multi-nation tournaments

Kohli has 143 catches in 274 innings in ODIs.

Indian cricket superstar Virat Kohli has added yet another feather to his cap. The former skipper took a one-handed stunner in the IND vs NEP clash on Monday, September 4, to complete 100 catches in multi-nation tournaments. Kohli, who had earlier dropped Aasif Sheikh in the second over of the match, redeemed himself after plucking the ball out of thin air and sending the opener back into the hut.

Kohli has leveled former Indian skipper Mohammad Azharuddin and become just the second non-keeper to take 100 catches in multi-nation events.

The Delhi cricketer achieved an incredible feat in the 30th over of the IND vs NEP match. Kohli lept to his right and grabbed the ball with his right hand to dismiss Nepal’s highest scorer for 58 runs. His brilliance in the field helped India restrict their opponent to 230 runs.

Nepal’s fightback in the first innings vs India

Sompal Kami and Aasif Sheikh put up a great fight as they guided Nepal to a respectable total of 230. After putting up an opening stand of 65, the Rhinos lost their way and lost half their side for just 132 runs. That’s when Sompal and Dipendra Airee came and constructed a 50-run stand to take their side from 132-5 to 230. For the Men in Blue, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Siraj starred with the ball, picking up three wickets each.
