Virat Kohli Babar Azam: Pakistan skipper BREAKS silence on INFAMOUS ‘This too Shall Pass’ Tweet for Kohli, reveals BEAUTIFUL reason behind the message, CHECK out
Virat Kohli Babar Azam: Why Azam posted a Tweet for Virat Kohli This too Shall Pass?
- Kohli was in midst of a form slump that saw him not score a century from November 2019 to August 2022.
- From his last century, Kohli only scored 806 ODI runs at an average of 36.68 and averaged just 27.25 in Test cricket.
- While many players from India supported Kohli during his tough times, only a few from Pakistan wished him his grand comeback.
- Azam was one of them and he took to Twitter in July to show support for Kohli.
- While the Pakistani skipper faced backlash from Indian fans during the time, turns out he only wanted Kohli to come back stronger from the form slump.
“As a sportsperson, anyone can go through such a time. At that time I thought maybe if I tweet it might give someone help and confidence. See, as a player, you try to back every sportsman in a difficult time. It is in difficult times when you get to know what you are thinking about others. At that time, I thought I should have done that and maybe something positive will come out of it. Something which can be a plus point,” Babar told ICC Digital.
While Kohli is back with a bang from his form slump he also acknowledged Azam’s Tweet and wrote, “Thank you. Keep shining and rising. Wish you all the best.”
