India’s senior batters, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, will be overjoyed now that their matches at the Nassau Cricket Stadium have been done and dusted. The ground gave batters a nightmare due to pitches that had an uneven bounce, where the ball swung, seamed, and spun throughout the match, while the outfield was probably the worst one in the world.
Kohli & Rohit’s stinking record at Nassau
Kohli and Rohit, who have been not only India’s best batters but the world’s in the past decade, were troubled in all three matches played here. The openers have scored 73 runs combined in the three matches and have just scored four single-digit scores.
Rohit has been slightly better, scoring 68 of the 73 runs (52, 13, 3), and has an unbeaten fifty to his name as well. Kohli, on the other hand, has made three single-figure scores (1, 4, 0), including a golden duck against the USA.

Better times ahead?
Up next for India is the Canada challenge at the Central Broward Ground in Lauderhill. For Rohit, it’s a great change, as the opener has an incredible record at the venue. In just five innings, he’s scored nearly 200 runs, averaged almost fifty, and is striking over 150. For Virat, however, things haven’t gone as well. In the three times he’s batted in Lauderhill, he’s failed to get going and has a strike rate of barely over 100.
Virat Kohli & Rohit Sharma: Central Broward Ground record
Player | Inn | Runs | Avg | SR |
---|---|---|---|---|
Rohit Sharma | 5 | 196 | 49 | 153.13 |
Virat Kohli | 3 | 63 | 21 | 103.28 |
When it comes to the Super 8 venues (Kensington Oval, Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, and Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium), things are slightly different. Kohli has never batted once at the three grounds despite playing 120 T20Is and Rohit has played at one of these venues, Kensington Oval, and has a pretty solid record with an average of 84 and a strike rate of 155.56.
