VINOD Kambli Indian Cricketer: Vinod Kambli, a former Indian cricketer, is in hot water once more. In the latest, his wife Andrea Hewitt has accused him of harassing and assaulting her in a Bandra (West) apartment on Friday while allegedly under the influence of alcohol. According to the Bandra Police, Kambli has an FIR filed against him under IPC sections 504 (insult) and 324 (willful infliction of harm with dangerous weapons). He is charged with tossing the handle of a cooking pan over his wife Andrea, causing a head injury.

Her wife has said as per TOI, “The matter is getting sorted out.”
Between 1:00 and 1:30 PM, Kambli allegedly entered his Bandra apartment while intoxicated and abused his wife.
The 12-year-old son of Kambli saw the incident and tried to calm him down. He hurled the cooking pan handle at his wife after rushing into the kitchen.
According to Bandra police, Kambli’s wife sought medical attention at Bhabha Hospital initially before going to the officer and reporting the incident.
After this incident, Kambli turned off his phone.
Andrea Kambli, the complaint’s author, stated: “Despite trying to pacify him, he abused me and my son for no reason. He charged at us. After hitting the cooking panhandle, he charged again with a bat. I managed to stop him before leaving with my son, and rushed to the hospital.”
In 17 Test matches for his country, Kambli scored 1084 runs, including 4 hundreds. He has 2477 runs, including two hundreds, in 104 ODIs for India. The Mumbai batter played his first game for India in 1991 and his final game in October 2000.
