Vinod Kambli in ‘jolly mood’, video of poor health outdated: Rumours about star quashed

Vinod Kambli's friends confirmed the former cricketer was in good health and that the viral video of him struggling to walk was outdated

Former India cricketer Vinod Kambli is in good health and has asked fans to not believe social media. Earlier this week, a video of Kambli allegedly struggling to walk surfaced on social media and went viral. Quashing the rumours, Kambli met his friends and hosted them for a chat during which he asked them to stay cautious about news on social media.

Vinod Kambli fine, viral video outdated

As per Hindustan Times, Kambli was visited by Couto brothers, his school classmate Ricky and first-class umpire Marcus. Mumbai Cricket Association president Ajinkya Nayak was also among the others who called on Kambli to check on his health.

He was in jolly mood when we met him. He is recovering well and is in much better condition. The video being circulated is outdated. He doesn’t have belly fat and eat his food well,” said Marcus.

In the video, Kambli is seen struggling to even walk and requiring support to navigate his surroundings. The eye-pleasing left-hander, who once mesmerized fans with his stroke play, gave heartbreaking visuals for the fans.

Kambli’s battle with health issues is not new. He has openly discussed his struggles with heart problems and depression in the past. Hospitalizations and medical interventions have been a part of his journey. While his condition seemed to improve after a series of health scares in the early 2010s, the latest video indicates a relapse.
