Earlier, After winning the toss, GT skipper Hardik Pandya opted to field first. Opening batsman Rahmanullah Gurbaz, scored a brilliant knock of 81 to help the host post a competitive total of 179/7.
In response, the Titans got off to a flying start, with opener Shubman Gill taking the attack to the KKR bowlers. Gill scored 49 off 35 balls. However, after a good partnership between Gill and Hardik Pandya, GT lost two quick wickets and allowed KKR to get back in the game.
However, Shankar came all gun blazing and made sure the game didn’t go till the final over. Joshua Little, who had an outstanding game with the ball, was adjudged the player of the match. His spell of 2/25 derailed KKR’s innings and set the tone for the Titans’ win.
