India bowlers and Sri Lanka batters were trading blows during the 2nd T20I played at the Pallekele Stadium. The match was turning out to be a riveting one, late in the day on July 28. But it turned out that it wasn’t just the players that were trading blows. During the match, due to a seating issue, a huge fight erupted.
Fight on and off the field
At first, it was fans that were bickering, and soon, the fans turned on the police. It was clear that one fan in particular couldn’t keep his cool and was shouting at the police present at Pallekele Stadium. For those who might not remember, yesterday, some Indian superfans weren’t allowed to enter the facility due to the medal-rod flags they were carrying, and today a huge fight erupted inside the stound. Fair to stay, the series has been nothing but interesting on and off the field.
