Veteran spinner Piyush Chawla overtakes Dwayne Bravo to become 2nd highest wicket-taker in IPL history

Chawla claimed his 184th IPL wicket by dismissing Rinku Singh. With this accomplishment, the Mumbai Indians spinner moved up to second place on the all-time list of wicket-takers.

On Friday, veteran spinner Piyush Chawla of the Mumbai Indians created history by taking the second-most wickets in the history of the Indian Premier League. At the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, during the IPL 2024 match against the Kolkata Knight Riders, the 35-year-old spinner achieved this milestone.

Chawla overtakes Bravo with Rinku Singh’s scalp

Chawla claimed his 184th IPL wicket by dismissing Rinku Singh. With this accomplishment, the Mumbai Indians spinner moved up to second place on the all-time list of wicket-takers, surpassing veteran West Indies and Chennai Super Kings pacer Dwayne Bravo.

With 200 wickets taken, spinner Yuzvendra Chahal of the Rajasthan Royals is ranked first. Bhuvneshwar Kumar of Sunrisers Hyderabad and Amit Mishra of the Lucknow Super Giants complete the list in fourth and fifth position, respectively.
