Australia opener Usman Khawaja has reportedly prepared an application for displaying a pro-Palestine message, despite facing potential action from ICC for sporting an armband. The southpaw, who intended to earlier wear shoes bearing a message for the people of Gaza, backtracked only to sport a black armband in the 1st PAK vs AUS Test.

Usman Khawaja, during a training session in Perth, was seen wearing shoes bearing hand-written messages like “freedom is a human right” and “all lives are equal.” The 35-year-old expressed his intent to wear these shoes during the Perth Test.
Cricket Australia, in a statement, clarified its stance, saying, “We support the right of our players to express personal opinions, but the ICC has rules in place which prohibit the display of personal messages which we expect the players to uphold.”
