Despite Covid-19 struggles, both USA and Ireland locked horns in Lauderhill, Florida and it turned out to be a memorable outing for the home side. Opting to bat after winning the toss, the USA had one of the worst starts as they lost their top four batters inside the powerplay.
However, the fifties from Sushant Modani (50 off 39) and Gajanand Singh (65 off 42) along with the valuable cameo from Marty Kain (39* off 15) propelled the USA to a big total of 188/6. In reply, Ireland only managed 162/6 and fell short by 26 runs from the target.
It is a must-win game for Ireland to level the series. They had a brilliant start with the ball before a 110-run partnership between Sushant Modani and Gajanand Singh took the game away from them. The visitors were also ordinary with the bat on a pitch that seems to be batting friendly.
