Following a remarkable victory in the final Test of the ENG vs SL series, Sri Lanka achieved their first Test win over England in 10 years, successfully chasing down 219 runs at The Oval with a sensational century by Pathum Nissanka.
Despite this victory, England secured a 2-1 series win at home. Although Sri Lanka lost the three-match series, the win propelled them to fifth place in the World Test Championship (WTC) points table. Meanwhile, England slipped to sixth place, with their PCT dropping to 42.18 after the defeat.
