UP vs MP Live: Venkatesh Iyer look to fire Madhya Pradesh into quarters – Follow Live

While, UP finished second in Elite Group C and won three out of their 5 matches, MP finished behind table-toppers Kerala in Elite Group D, winning four of their five matches. Also, Madhya Pradesh has won their last four matches on the bounce after losing to Maharashtra in the opener. Uttar Pradesh have won their last three matches after losing the first two against Saurashtra and Jharkhand in Chandigarh and Multanpur respectively.

Two out of three of UP’s win have come while chasing. MP have defended their totals on all the four occasions. It should be noted that MP led by Aditya Shrivastava have scored on excess of 300 in all four of their five matches. Their last match was a low scoring one in which they defended 192 against Chhattisgarh in Rajkot.

On the flip side, Uttar Pradesh are yet to cross the 250-run mark. Their highest team total came against Haryana in the last group stage match when they scored 245 in Mohali.

With Venkatesh Iyer going through a purple patch, Madhya Pradesh certainly have an upper hand against Uttar Pradesh in the match. Iyer has scored 349 runs at an average of 69.80 from 5 matches. In his last four outings, the southpaw has registered scores of 112, 71, 151 and 1. Shubam Sharma and Abhishek Bhandari have very ably supported him by accumulating 335 and 244 runs from five matches each.

Rinku Singh (245) is UP’s top run-getter and the only batsman to get more than 200 runs for the team.

In the bowling department, Puneet Datey have picked 9 wickets in 5 matches. Yash Dayal and Shivam Mavi have picked 11 and 10 wickets respectively for Uttar Pradesh.
