‘Unprofessional’ Haris Rauf blasted ahead of crucial IND vs PAK tie by ex-Pakistan skipper

Haris Rauf failed to defend 15 runs in the last over against USA, conceding a 6 and a 4 to send the game into super over, where Pakistan lost.

Haris Rauf came under fire from former Pakistan captain Salman Butt for his lack of professionalism and his inability to grow from his repeated mistakes. Rauf’s response to each delivery appears to indicate that he has suffered a significant financial loss, the former opening batter said after the team’s loss to USA in the T20 World Cup 2024. The criticism comes ahead of the crucial IND vs PAK tie which has become a must-win game for Pakistan.

Salman Butt blasts Haris Rauf

It is not a surprise that he conceded so many runs because he doesn’t look at his field and bowl accordingly. Mid off is inside the circle and yet he bowls full and gets hit for a boundary on the last ball. You can see the captain also screamed at him. When you have mid-off up, then you don’t bowl full balls. This is a basic of cricket,” said Butt on ‘Cricket Baithak’ podcast.

He (Haris Rauf) has some weird style when he bowls a ball and just sits on his knees with his hand on his head. It is as if he incurred a loss in shares or someone robbed him. But that is so unprofessional. You never learn anything. They lacked common sense and game awareness,” he added.

Bad over from Haris Rauf leads to USA pushing game into super-over

Rauf, who made his T20I comback in the England series following a shoulder dislocation in PSL 2024, was criticized for his performance on Thursday in Dallas against the USA. The hosts won in the super over after the right-arm speedster was unable to stop 15 runs in the last over.

Rauf came in to bowl a lower full toss with the mid-off inside the circle with the host team needing five runs off the last ball. To send the game into Super Over, Nitish Kumar hit a four over the fielder.
