T20 World Cup 2024: Unlike the delay in venues for the ODI World Cup 2023, there won’t be any kind of delays for the T20 World Cup 2024 venues. The T20 WC will be co-hosted by West Indies, the USA, and will be a 20-team tournament. ICC are likely to announce venues for the showpiece event set to be played from June 4 to 30 2024.
According to ESPNcricinfo report, the T20 World Cup 2024 will be played across ten venues. It is also understood that the ICC had inspected the venues in the USA, which will be hosting an ICC event for the first time. Lauderhill in Florida, Morrisville, Dallas, and New York are venues that will host matches during the showpiece event. Currently, Morrisville and Dallas are hosting the inaugural edition of Major League Cricket (MLC).

T20 World Cup 2024: 12 teams qualified for the T20 WC 2024, Ireland, Scotland, and PNC secure berths
For the uninitiated, 12 teams have qualified for the next year’s T20 WC. Australia, England, India, Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, and Sri Lanka. Afghanistan and Bangladesh. Three teams from regional qualifiers Ireland, Scotland, and Papua New Guinea (PNG) have qualified for the showpiece event. PNG topped the East Asia-Pacific Qualifier, and Ireland and Scotland finished in the top two positions in the Europe Region Qualifier.
Qualifiers from the Americas (one spot), Africa (two spots) & Asia (two spots) will be decided in a few months. This year’s T20 World Cup format will be different from the last two editions. This time 20 teams will be divided into four groups of five each for the first round, with the top two of each team qualifying for the Super 8s. Then the Super 8s will be split into two groups of four each, with the top two from each progressing to the semi-finals.
The T20 World Cup 2024 will kick off the next ICC’s commercial cycle from 2024-31, which was fixed in 2021.
