MS Dhoni: After helping Candy Crush Saga become the number one trending topic on Twitter, it seems Khichdi will now become number one hit among netizens due to MS Dhoni. Virender Sehwag, who was one of the members to unveil the ICC ODI World Cup Schedule in Mumbai, revealed that Dhoni used to eat only Khichdi during the ODI World Cup in 2011. Despite the former India captain’s low returns in the showpiece event, he continued to eat Khichdi due to India winning games.
Virender Sehwag: “MS Dhoni only ate khichdi throughout the 2011 World Cup. Everyone was being superstitious during the entire tournament.” Everyone has different superstitions, and for Dhoni, it was this particular dish. The faith in Khichdi finally paid off for the wicketkeeper batter after he smashed a match-winning unbeaten 91 in the final against Sri Lanka and brought the Wankhede and the whole of Indian people on his feet.
