Shubman Gill and Nitish Reddy had decent outings in the warm=up game against Australia's PM XI while Rohit Sharma returned to action

Returning to the side after suffering an injury to his thumb ahead of IND vs AUS 1st Test, Shubman Gill managed to score a half-century in the pink-ball warm-up game against Australia’s PM XI. The Men in Blue managed to clinch a win against the hosts on Sunday after playing out 46 overs, The Indian innings saw Yashasvi Jaiswal and Nitish Reddy breach the 40-run mark as India asserted dominance on the opening day of the contest.

Gill, Reddy dominate IND vs PM’s XI

Shubman Gill missed the 1st Test in Perth after suffering a blow to his left thumb during training. In the pink-ball warm-up game, he scored 50 off 62 deliveries before retiring hurt. Meanwhile, Washington Sundar and Nitish Kumar Reddy scored 42 runs each as India prevailed against Australia’s Prime Minister’s XI on Sunday. India skipper Rohit Sharma, who returned to action on Sunday after missing the 1st Test, managed to score just five runs. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli did not come out to bat in the practice game.

Inida managed to bundle out Australia’s PM XI for 240 runs in the warm-up game at Canberra. Pacer Harshit Rana was the standout among the Indian bowling line-up as he picked up four wickets while Siraj picked up a couple of wickets as well. Noticably, neither Rishabh Pant or Virat Kohli were a part of the match. While tjis was just a warm-up game, India’s batting order has casted aspersions on what could be the batting order for the pink-ball Test in Adelaide. Inida are currently 1-0 up in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series, courtrsy of a 295-run win against Australia in Perth. The team will count on skipper Rohit Sharma to make an impact on his return. Meanwhile, the success of Nitish Reddy and Shubman Gill comes as good news for the Men in Blue. India’s vice-captain Jasprit Bumrah was also rested for the match.
