Uncapped players IPL teams might retain

Chennai Super Kings are set to retain MS Dhoni as an uncapped player. They didn’t need to resort to any tricks to change the rules. There is a strong possibility that MS Dhoni will play in IPL 2025 as an uncapped player. Sunrisers Hyderabad are unlikely to retain any uncapped players, as they do not have a suitable candidate.

PBKS mistakenly bought Shashank Singh, but he could be their retention for the IPL 2025 auction as an uncapped player, having proven that his selection wasn’t a ‘mistake.’ Although RCB might not retain any uncapped players, they do have Mahipal Lomror as an option. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have a golden opportunity to retain Harshit Rana for just ₹4 crore since he has yet to receive an international cap. If he doesn’t make his debut in the South Africa T20I series, he will enter the auction as an uncapped player.

MI, on the other hand, have several uncapped players to choose from. Piyush Chawla, Anshul Kamboj, Akash Madhwal, Naman Dhir, and Nehal Wadhera are possible retention options. However, they can only retain six players, and three of those slots are almost locked in.

LSG might retain the veteran Amit Mishra or the young talent Ayush Badoni. RR are likely to retain Sandeep Sharma, as he hasn’t played an international match in the last five years.
