Umran Malik vs Shoaib Akhtar: IND vs SL –  Team India’s new speedster Umran Malik has been bowling tremendously and took two wickets by giving 27 runs in four overs. The Jammu express Umran bowled an express pace delivery above 95 miles and took the wicket of Srilanka’s captain Dasun Shanaka in the 17th over. The 23-year-old fast bowler’s wicket-taking delivery was recorded on the speedometer at 155 km/h. Umran’s feat saw him overtake Jasprit Bumrah’s record of 153.36 km/h, which he bowled against Australia in 2018. Due to his fast bowling ability and action, India’s young bowler is always compared to Pakistan’s former fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar. The Pakistan star was the first to break the 100m/h barrier in international cricket and has a record for the fastest delivery in International cricket ( 161.3 km/hr).

The ‘Rawalpindi express’ bowled his fastest delivery in the ODI World Cup 2003 against England in Capetown South Africa. The 161.3 km/hr delivery made him the first player to break the 100m/hr barrier in cricket. The right-arm pacer was famous for his fast bouncer and dipping yorkers.

The 47-year-old broke the 100m/hr barrier first time against Newzeland in 2002 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore during the final ODI of the three-match series. Newzeland batter Craig McMillan received the first recorded 100 m/hr delivery in cricket. Akhtar bowled the beauty with all his might to clock the speed of 100.04 mph (161 km/hr).

In Srilanka’s tour of India, Dasun Shanaka-led Srilanka won the toss and elected to bowl first against India in the first T20I, The host nation batted first and scored 162 runs for five wickets in 20 overs. The visitors were unable to chase down the target and were bowled out for 160 runs.  Deepak Hooda was declared of the match for his impressive batting, he scored 41 runs in 23 balls
