The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the list of umpires for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025. The ICC had already shared all the officials of the 8-team tournament, but it’s just now that they have released the list for each match. The India vs. Pakistan match will remain at the centre stage of the ICC Champions Trophy, and the on-field umpires for the electric game will be Paul Reiffel and Richard Illingworth.
ICC Champions Trophy: Umpires for India vs Pakistan match
- On-field umpires: Paul Reiffel and Richard Illingworth
- TV/3rd umpire: Michael Gough
- Fourth umpire: Adrian Holdstock
- Referee: David Boon
The ICC hasn’t revealed the match officials for the knockout stages yet. But the umpires for Team India’s remaining two matches have been released as well. You’ll find that no Indian umpire or match official has been seen; that’s because Nitin Menon (umpire) and Javagal Srinath (referee) have pulled out of the ICC Champions Trophy, citing personal reasons.
Both haven’t specified the exact personal reason, but it’s safe to assume both won’t be there because the majority of the tournament will be played in Pakistan. We all know what the Indian government and the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s stance is, and therefore they aren’t going.
