U19 World Cup: Not Pakistan, India vs Australia to lock horns for ultimate prize

India set to renew rivalries against Australia again as U19 team face junior Kangaroos in World Cup final. Senior men's teams faced off in WTC Final and ODI WC final in 2023.

Arch rivals won’t meet in the finals. India and Australia will lock horns in the finals of the ICC U19 World Cup. The mega clash between the formidable rivals will take place on 11th February at Willowmoore Park, Benoni. While India scripted a stunning win against South Africa, Australia fought till the last wicket to seal their spot in the finals.

Australia came back from the grave to clinch the win. The Pakistani players grabbed 3 wickets late to push Australia to the last wicket. Raf MacMilllan, unfazed by pressure hit the boundary off the last over to seal the deal for his side.

After the World Test Championship Finals, the ODI World Cup finals, this will be the third time that the two sides meet in the finals of an ICC tournament.

Yet again the two power houses of cricket will lock horns. Albeit it will be the youngsters this time. But both sides will go all guns blazing at each other for the ultimate prize. In terms of head to head records in 2023, Australia is leading.

Australia won the WTC Finals and then went on to beat India in the finals of the ODI World Cup. This can be the perfect opportunity for the India colts to exact revenge for their senior team.

The two sides are slated to meet once again in December. India is set to travel to down under for the coveted Border Gavaskar Trophy.
