Australia’s ambidextrous spinner Nivethan Radhakrishnan:

Nivethan Radhakrishnan moved to Sydney from India in 2013 and has been named in a 15-member squad for next month’s tournament in the West Indies.

  • He was a net bowler for Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League and was even coached by Australian batting legend Ricky Ponting
  • Nivethan Radhakrishnan has represented Australia at the under-16 level.
  • He grabbed all the attention after picking 20 wickets and scoring 898 runs in NSW Premier Cricket last summer and later received offers from both NSW and Tasmania cricket
  • He has also made 622 runs this season, opening the batting for his club side in Tasmania

Australia’s under-19 men’s World Cup squad:

Harkirat Bajwa, Aidan Cahill, Cooper Connolly, Joshua Garner, Isaac Higgins, Campbell Kellaway, Corey Miller, Jack Nisbet, Nivethan Radhakrishnan, William Salzmann, Lachlan Shaw, Jackson Sinfield, Tobias Snell, Tom Whitney, Teague Wyllie.

Akshay Karnewar – Vidarbha’s ambidextrous spinner:

Earlier, in November 2021, Vidarbha’s 29-year-old ambidextrous spinner – Akshay Karnewar made it to the headlines with his bowling prowess when he scripted a history of bowling 4 maidens in 4 overs. Playing for Vidarbha in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy,  became the 1st player in T20 cricket to concede zero runs after bowling a full quota of 4 overs.

  • Karnewar bowled four overs without conceding a run and also picked up two wickets against Manipur in SMAT 2021. He bowled a spell of 4-4-0-2
  • In the next game, he claimed a hat-trick against Sikkim returning with figures of 4-1-5-4
  • Karnewar bowls both right-arm off-spin and left-arm orthodox
