However, this was not the only milestone that Rohit Sharma reached. The MI skipper added another significant milestone by becoming the second player to score 5,000 runs for a single franchise. Only Virat Kohli, who has been associated with the Royal Challengers Bangalore since the inception of IPL, previously achieved this feat.
Apart from scoring a brilliant half-century, Rohit stitched a blistering 128-run partnership with all-rounder Cameron Green to help Mumbai secure a must-win game and keep their Playoffs hopes alive.
Cameron Green, who has had a fabulous maiden IPL season with the bat, smashed a 47-ball century to conclude Mumbai Indians’ league stage journey with a big win.
Earlier, SRH openers Mayank Agarwal (83) and Vivrant Sharma (69) stitched a brilliant 140-run partnership to power the hosts to 200 in 20 overs.
The 5-time IPL champion now has 16 points from 14 games and needs RCB to drop points in their game against Gujarat Titans to secure the 4th spot.
