Former England pacer Stuart Broad, who recently hung up his boots after the 2023 Ashes series, is set to add another achievement to his name as Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club has decided to rename the Trent Bridge Pavilion End to the Stuart Broad End in his honor.
Broad served Nottinghamshire and England cricket with distinction, picking up 847 wickets in 344 matches for the Three Lions, making him the seventh most prolific wicket-taker in England’s history.
Ceremony will take place before England vs West Indies match
Trent Bridge has made it official that the renaming will take place before the first day’s play of the second Test between England and the West Indies. According to Trent Bridge’s official website, the legendary bowler will be in attendance, along with his father, former England cricketer Chris Broad.
It is also noteworthy to mention that the renaming was completed in September 2023, shortly after his retirement. However, since this will be the first Test match at this venue since 2022, it is the perfect time to unveil the new name of the Pavilion End, especially with his former teammates present, adding icing on the cake for Broad.
