Trent Boult breathes fire, Rohit Sharma registers joint most ducks in IPL

MI vs RR: Rohit Sharma's lacklustre form continues, ex Mumbai Indians skipper dismissed for golden duck by Trent Boult

First over from Trent Boult and a wicket, goes hand in hand. This time the victim – Mumbai Indians’ ace batter and ex captain, Rohit Sharma. The Hitman was dismissed by Boult for a golden duck in the MI vs RR clash. Rohit Sharma now has 17 ducks in IPL, the joint most with Dinesh Karthik.

The poor form for Mumbai Indians continue. Trent Boult went on to bag two back to back wickets of Rohit and Naman Dhir as MI find themselves in a bit of trouble.

There were high hopes on Rohit Sharma to register a big score today. Mumbai Indians return to Wankhede to play their first home match, in front of their home fans. But it was surely not the start that MI was expecting.

Rohit Sharma has been in decent touch in IPL 2024. He smashed 43 against GT and a decent 26 vs SRH. But the former Mumbai Indians skipper was plucked on his very first delivery. A gem of delivery, a thick outside edge and a diving catch by Sanju Samson was enough for Rohit to walk back.

Interestingly, this is only the second time that Boult has managed to bag Rohit. His previous wicket cam back in 2018. On the other hand Rohit hasn’t faced the Kiwi speedster much in IPL. He has managed 17 runs from 18 balls with 2 dismissals.
