KL Rahul will not be joining his home team, Royal Challengers Bangalore, as Delhi Capitals have bought him for Rs. 14 crore.

KL Rahul must be a little disappointed with how things unfolded in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction. Fans were hoping for him to join Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), but the wicketkeeper-batter was bought by Delhi Capitals for ₹14 crore. Memes have since flooded social media, with many hilariously suggesting that DC pulled off a masterstroke with their bid for Rahul.

It was a swap of captains for Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals, as Rishabh Pant was bought by LSG and KL Rahul was acquired by DC.

Netizens also believe that Kiran Grandhi played a masterstroke by waiting for other teams to bid high on different players, ultimately securing KL Rahul for a steal at Rs. 14 crore.
