The Indian Premier League over the 12 seasons has raised a long list of multi-millionaire players. Year or year there are players who top headlines for their salary contract running into crores of rupees. Then there are performers – stars and surprise packages – who script the destiny of their teams and ascertain the outcome in the race for the coveted trophy and the big fat price purse associated with it.

Insidesport Moneyball, applying logic to evaluate each player’s overall performance, has created an IPL IMPACT RANK for each player, who has played at least one match in the current season.

SunRisers Hyderabad and Australian opener David Warner has emerged as the most impactful player on the Indian Premier League (IPL) Moneyball Impact table.

Warner celebrated the end of his one-year suspension on March 29, with impactful 692 runs in IPL 2019. Warner has accumulated 698 impact points for 692 runs and 2 catches.

Russell has been most impactful for Kolkata Knight Riders and the second most impactful in overall IPl Moneyball Impact table with the bat and the ball. The Caribbean all-rounder has been outrageous with the bat scoring 514 runs, taking 11 wickets and 4 catches have given him 636 impact points in the 12th season of IPL.

KL Rahul, as the leading Indian on the IPL 2019 Moneyball Impact table, is placed overall third following his new-found form. The Kings XI Punjab wicketkeeper-batsman to his credit has 614 points and stays in the hunt for the top spot.

IMPACT RANK

Impact Rank is a methodology devised by Moneyball to rate players on the basis of their performance impact on the match in all aspects – batting, bowling, fielding – of the game. The Impact Rank takes into consideration runs scored, wickets and catch taken as well as stumping and run-outs executed by a player.

IMPACT POINTS CALCULATION

Impact points are arrived at by applying a formula for performance evaluation. Players earn one point for each run scored, 10 points are allocated for each wicket, while catch, stumping and run-out add three points to a player’s IMPACT POINTS.

VALUE FOR MONEY RANK

Value for Money rankings is derived by dividing a players’ annual salary with his IMPACT POINTS. In simple terms, the gross annual salary of the player is divided by the impact points to arrive at his VALUE FOR MONEY RANK. Players with the lowest amount spent for each impact point gets ranking higher up the order.

IMPACT RANK QUALIFICATION

Players who are yet to play a match in the IPL Season XI do not qualify for the IMPACT RANK and VALUE FOR MONEY ranking.
