To comfort or scold? PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi visits Babar Azam and co after humiliating loss to Ireland

Pakistan will play their second and third T20Is on 12th May and 14th May and Naqvi is set to attend the games

Trying to boost the morale of the players. Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, visited Dublin, Ireland, on Saturday. Pakistan were handed a 5-wicket loss in the first PAK vs IRE T20I game.

Mohsin Naqvi to hold meetings with Pakistan Team

During his brief stay in the Irish capital, Naqvi is scheduled to hold meetings with the Pakistan cricket team, as well as with local cricket board and government officials. Sources indicate that Naqvi’s visit will end on May 14, with his return to Pakistan. Pakistan will play their second and third T20Is on 12th May and 14th May and Naqvi is set to attend the games.

Pakistan lose first PAK vs IRE T20I

In the first T20I of the three-match series at the Clontarf Cricket Club, Dublin, Ireland delivered a stunning performance, defeating Pakistan by five wickets. This victory marked the first time Ireland has emerged victorious over Pakistan in T20Is, with the two teams having previously met only once in the shorter format, resulting in Pakistan’s win.

Despite Pakistan’s promising start, claiming two wickets in the first five overs with Naseem Shah and Shaheen Afridi taking early scalps, they struggled against Andrew Balbirnie and Harry Tector. Balbirnie and Tector’s resilient partnership of 77 runs revitalized Ireland’s innings after a shaky start.

Although Tector departed after contributing 36 runs, Balbirnie continued to anchor the innings. George Dockrell’s brisk knock of 24 runs off 12 balls, including four boundaries, injected momentum into Ireland’s chase and proved pivotal in their victory. Pakistan’s bowling attack saw Abbas Afridi claiming two wickets, while Shaheen Afridi, Imad Wasim, and Naseem Shah each secured one wicket.
