TNPL Auction: Ahead of the auction, the Tamil Nadu Premier League announced that each of the franchise teams will be able to retain a maximum of two players. One player needs to be picked from category A or B and others from categories C and D. The deadline day for the retention has passed, which was 30th January. With an initial price budget of 70 lakhs, the teams will enter the fray with a reduced price depending on the price that they spend after retaining players. The TNPL Auction is scheduled to take place on the 23rd and 24th of February.
Price division
– Rs. 10 lakhs for Category A (players who have represented International matches)
– Rs. 6 lakhs for Category B (players who have represented senior BCCI domestic matches)
– Rs. 3 Lakhs for Category C (players who are not in Category A or B but who have played more than 30 TNPL matches)
– Rs. 1.50 Lakhs for Category D player (other players)
