The Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises have demanded for a separate board to supervise the event which is currently done by the PCB. As per Cricket Pakistan, the owners of the franchise – in particular Quetta Gladiators owner – has been very vocal about the demand. The teams claim that the issues faced by the PCB and the PSL are very different and hence a separate board will need to be formed.
PSL teams tired of PCB
As per reports, Quetta Gladiators chairman Nadeem Omar pointed out that there was a clear lack of communication between the franchises and PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi due to his ‘busy schedule’. He stated that a separate board will ensure issues can be discussed and resolved directly and efficiently. He added that this would also ensure smooth functioning of the PSL and the franchises.
The owners of the PSL franchises are already frustrated with the PCB over their pending dues. The teams are yet to receive their share of revenue for PSL 2024 because PCB is yet to receive money from various stakeholders.
Various stakeholders are set to pay amounts totalling PKR 492,041,975, PKR 184,837,822, PKR 147,165,049, PKR 41,503,740, and PKR 293,312,500. Once these payments are made, each franchise’s share will be PKR 52 crore 59 lakh 16 thousand 638.
