Youngster Tilak Varma had to vacant his place as star batter Virat Kohli made a comeback in the T20I squad. Tilak Varma has been going under a lean patch as he failed to perform in the South Africa tour as well. On the other hand, Virat Kohli also needs to perform to cement his place for the upcoming T20 World Cup in West Indies and USA.
Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to have a bowl first in Indore. Yashasvi Jaiswal is also back in the team with Shubman Gill getting dropped from the opening position.
“We are gonna bowl first. No particular reason. Just nature of the ground especially the small boundaries. The things we were talking in our meeting, we were able to come out and execute that in the first game. We asked specific roles from the guys and they performed accordingly,” said Rohit Sharma at the toss.
“Not much, they don’t have any baggage and it is all about backing them, allow them to be free on the ground. We will do things keeping the WC in mind but we know results are also important. Kohli and Jaiswal back for Gill and Tilak,” he added.
