‘Pathetic’ Waqar Younis defends Babar Azam as WhatsApp chat goes public

Ya kya Karna ki koshish kar raha ho aap loog??? This is pathetic." wrote Waqar Younis about Pakistan captain Babar Azam.

Amidst Pakistan skipper Babar Azam’s WhatsApp leak row, veteran Waqar Younis has come out in support of Babar Azam. It must be noted that the conversation between Babar and PCB’s CEO, Salman Naseer was leaked on Pakistan LIVE TV. Since the chat leaks, it has come to light that both Pakistan team management and Babar Azam are not having good terms at all. Meanwhile, Waqar has come out in support of Babar and asked fans to leave the Pakistan skipper alone for the time being.

“Ya kya Karna ki koshish kar raha ho aap loog??? This is pathetic!!! Khush ho gaya aap loog. Please leave @babarazam25 alone 🙏🏽. He’s an asset of Pakistan Cricket,” Younis replied to a post on X.

In an interview with a local Pakistani news channel, Ashraf denied the allegations. Ashraf stated that Babar Azam had never gotten in touch with him directly. “He says that I don’t pick up his call,” Ashraf clarified. “He’s never given me a call. The chief operating officer or the director of international cricket are expected to speak with the captain of the team.” To support his claims, Ashraf went to the extent of sharing a private WhatsApp message from Babar Azam.

Pakistan to face BAN next in World Cup

It must be noted that Pakistan are having a hard time in the World Cup. Babar Azam and Co. have failed to gain any momentum in the tournament. Meanwhile, the Men in Green are slated to face Bangladesh next. The PAK vs BAN World Cup match will be played at the iconic Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
