They should bat: Saba Karim wants India to test batting depth in IND vs AFG 3rd T20I

Saba Karim said that India should test the likes of Axar Patel and Washington Sundar with the bat.

Veteran Saba Karim has opined that India should look to chase down the target and test their batting depth in the final T20I. To note, the Indian team have batted second in both the T20 matches courtesy of skipper Rohit Sharma winning the toss.

“I hope they do that in Bengaluru. Not only to put the bowlers under scanner but also to check the depth of your batting. Players like Axar Patel and Washington Sundar, who come down the order, may get a look in. Then you can understand if you want to play three seamers or spinners in the playing XI, once Hardik Pandya comes in,” Karim said.

India will take on Afghanistan in the third T20 International of the three-match series at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Wednesday. This will be the last T20 game for the Men in Blue ahead of the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup in the West Indies and USA. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma and Co. will look to win the final match of the series as well and complete a perfect series win over the meek-looking Afghani side.
