Skipper Rohit Sharma has given his thoughts on playing both Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin in the IND vs SA 1st Test. Speaking in a press conference ahead of the opening fixture, Rohit Sharma said that the pacers have done the job for them whenever they are playing in South Africa. The Indian skipper said that the spinners role will be containing the batters and if they get wickets then it will be a bonus for the visitors.
‘Every bowler will have a massive role. Spinners as well. Sometimes there is not much assistance for the spinners they still have the job of containing the batters. Every time we have come here the pacers have done the job for us. We have got two experienced spinners and they exactly know what is required from them,” said Rohit Sharma at the PC.
Pacers dominate in South Africa: Rohit
Speaking more about the conditions in South Africa, Rohit said that there’s a lot of seam movement for the pacers and batting is not easy. “Bowlers dominate here a lot, lateral movement for pacers, bounce, as game goes on, game becomes difficult, invariable bounce, throughout 5 days,” added Rohit.
