‘They didn’t want him’: David Warner’s wife levels serious allegations against Cricket Australia

Australia opener David Warner's wife Candice has accused Cricket Australia of meting out a differential treatment against the southpaw

David Warner’s wife Candice has accused Cricket Australia of meting out a different treatment to the southpaw. Candice claims that the administration did not want Warner in the picture as ‘he is different’ and ‘doesn’t fit the mould of a cricket player’. She further claims that there were plenty of people who ‘burnt’ her husband and that she didn’t want to name them.

“At times 100 per cent. But it’s not just them. It’s the administration,” Candice says on Channel 10.

“Look the current coaching staff are just, have been brilliant. Like they, a very different style of coaching and everything like that.

“But throughout his career the administration definitely, basically didn’t want him there. Because he’s different, he doesn’t typically fit the mould of a cricket player.”

“There’s been plenty of people that have burnt myself and David along the way and it happens to so many people, and it wouldn’t be right for me to name them individually, but those people know who they are.”

What Warner had said earlier?

Earlier, Warner had opened up on the leadership ban imposed upon him by Cricket Australia in 2018.

Speaking to Code Sports, Warner termed the ban as ‘bizarre’. “What’s the difference between captaining and coaching? You’ve got more responsibility as a coach, wouldn’t you think so? I don’t know, I’m not sure, I don’t know how to answer,” Warner said.
