“These people are liars”: Ex-India player slams Indians over controversial decisions, comment creates furore

IND vs AUS: While the Indian team was 121/3 at one stage, they were all out for 155 only and lost the match by 184 runs.

The Indian media and cricket experts had alike slammed the umpiring in the fourth IND vs AUS Test in Melbourne, where the visitors were handed a few tough decisions, especially that of Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was out for 84 in the second innings. After going for the pull shot, the batter missed it completely, and it seemed like the ball deflected his glove.

Indian Team Bunch of “Liars”?

But the snicko showed there was no sound as the ball passed the glove or the bat. But still, the third umpire overturned the decision, to rule Jaiswal out, leaving India closer to a defeat. Sunil Gavaskar had slammed this decision, questioning the use of technology, if the umpires didn’t use it properly.

Eventually India lost the match by 184 runs, trailing in the series 1-2. Now, former India cricketer Surinder Khanna has slammed this route taken by the Indian expert. In fact, he went on to term the team as liars. “Akash Deep also complained of a similar thing when he was caught out. ‘Juthe log hai yeh’ (These people are liars), you have to play fair first then only you’ll start winning, ” he was quoted as saying by IANS.

Ex-India Cricketer Slams Team

“When the bat is in your hand, how can you not know about edging the ball? We have played bad and we have lost. What kind of batting they’re doing? Come the IPL, these players will hit runs. Don’t play over-aggressive T20 cricket and play positively. Let’s hope that the luck changes in the New Year (for the Indian team).”

Meanwhile, after the loss, the chances of the Indian team making it to the WTC final have gone down considerably. Their points percentage has dropped from 55.88 to 52.78, while Australia’s improved from 58.89 to 61.46.
