India batter Shubman Gill returned to his run-scoring ways after an extended slump. The young Indian batter slammed a brilliant century during India’s second innings on Day 3 of IND vs ENG 2nd Test in Vizag.
However, fans were surprised not to see Gill perform his signature ‘bow down’ celebration after reaching the milestone.
The 24-year-old went for a low-key celebration after scoring a crucial ton.
“It felt good. I thought the job was not done for the team that’s why it was a little mellowed celebration”, Gill said after the end of Day 3.
Gill had some anxious moments early in his innings but once settled, the youngster played a fluent knock to score 104 off 147 balls.
“I was just taking one ball at a time. There was a lot happening in and around the crease. Couple of wickets fell early and then me and Shreyas [Iyer] had a good partnership. I just thought I will take one ball at a time and if the ball is there to be hit, will hit it”, Gill added.
India need 9 wickets to level the series, while England need 332 runs on Day 4 to go 2-0 up in the series.
