Wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel is on the cusp of breaking a record that is currently held by former Indian skipper MS Dhoni in the Duleep Trophy. The keeper-batter is a part of Shubman Gill’s India A which is currently in contest with Team B in the tournament opener. Jurel made his debut for India earlier this year during IND vs ENG Test series in February.

Dhruv Jurel only needs to take one more catch in the Duleep Trophy to go past Dhoni’s record for most catches taken by a wicketkeeper in the tournament. The former India skipper currently leads the charts with 7 catches in 2004-05 season for East Zone. Jurel has equalled Dhoni’s record in just one Duleep Trophy game as he grabbed seven catches in the India B’s 2nd innings.
