The India Cricket Team will play two Test matches in South Africa. However, prior to the IND vs SA series, India A side will play three matches with South Africa A as practice matches. As per the latest updates, the senior members of the squad who specialize in Test cricket will play for India A.
“Yes, there are three four-day Tests between India ‘A’ and South Africa ‘A’ next month. The team for that will be announced in some days. Most of the consistent young performers along with those (seniors) who need some game time before the two Test matches in Centurion (December 26 to 30) and Cape Town (January 3-7) will be there,” a BCCI source told PTI on condition of anonymity.
India will play three matches (four-day matches) against South Africa before the IND vs SA full series. Following this, the India A side will also play against England A in January ahead of the England Tour of India series.
Which Seniors will play for India A?
Test specialists like Ajinkya Rahane, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Jaydev Unadkat will play for India A in their preparation for the IND vs SA mega series.
Along with the seniors, the youngsters who have performed well in the domestic circuit will get their chance to shine. Abhimanyu Easwaran, B Sai Sudharsan, Yash Dhull, Kona Bharat, Upendra Yadav, and Saurabh Kumar are likely to get call-ups.
On the other hand, the BCCI has revealed the India A squad that will face England A for a 3-match T20I series, set to start on 29th November. Minnu Mani is set to lead the side.
