High on confidence, Shoaib Bashir is not ruling out a chance for England to win the IND vs ENG Ranchi Test. England tasked India to chase 192 runs for the win. But the hosts started off well finishing on 40/0 at end of Day 3. Shoaib Bashir who bagged a fifer in the 1st innings claims, they have 10 opportunities to take wickets and win the game.
Bashir is refusing to concede that England have lost the game. He has claimed that his side needs 10 opportunities to get 10 wickets and win the game. He further added that it would have been if his side could have picked a wicket or two in their second innings.
“Yeah, look, we would have liked to have got one or two wickets in that last period, but me and Harts [Tom Hartley] know we got a job to the tomorrow,” Shoaib Bashir told TNT Sports after the end of Day 3.
Earlier in India’s first innings, it was the youngster who wove his magic. He bagged a four-fer on Day 2 and made it a fifer on Day 3 when he scalped Akash Deep. “Ten opportunities to take ten wickets, and on that wicket anything is possible,” Bashir added.
Despite England’s trouble’s Bashir is happy with his fifer. And he dedicated his maiden Test fifer to his late grandfathers. “I just want to dedicate this to my two late granddads who passed away a year and a bit ago. They used to watch Test cricket all the time on TV, sitting in front of the TV on the couch. And their wish was to watch me play, and that didn’t happen. So yeah, it was quite emotional, but I’m grateful,” he concluded.
