The Mumbai Indians are an Indian women’s cricket team that plays in the Women’s Premier League (WPL). Indiawin Sports, the same company that owns the men’s squad, won the rights to run the Mumbai-based franchise for ₹912.99 crores (US$110 million). Harmanpreet Kaur is the captain, and Charlotte Edwards is the team coach. The team defeated the Delhi Capitals in the championship game to win the inaugural WPL season.

Shabnim Ismail

Since making her debut for the South African women’s team on the international scene in 2007, Shabnim Ismail has become the team’s leading wicket-taker in all formats. She has amassed 191 wickets in 127 WODIs and 123 wickets in 113 WT20Is. She is a women’s cricket stalwart as well as a legend in South African cricket.

Isabelle Wong, born on May 15, 2002, in London, England, is an all-rounder who began her cricket journey in Warwickshire at five. Named in England’s A squad in December 2021, she debuted in Tests against South Africa in 2022, followed by her maiden ODI where she took three wickets. Mumbai Indians acquired her for INR 30 Lakhs in the WPL auction, expecting match-winning contributions.

Fatima Jaffer

The Mumbai Indians acquired Fatima Jaffer during the WPL 2024 auction. Her status as a rising cricket star is further validated by the bidding war that ensued for her services. Considering the overall excellence she offers, she was bought at price of Rs 10 lakh.
