Canada have been clubbed alongside India, Pakistan, Ireland, and the hosts USA in Group A for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. They have once faced Pakistan among full-member sides in 2008. Canada, ranked No. 19 in the world in men’s T20 cricket will be making its first appearance in T20 World Cup. Canada has previously made four 50-over World Cup appearances (1979, 2003, 2007, 2011) but never advanced past the first round.
Canada and the U.S. will meet June 1 at the Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium in Dallas to kick off the ICC (International Cricket Council) Men’s T20 World Cup. Canada will then meet Ireland on June 7 and Pakistan on June 11, with both games in suburban New York, before wrapping up Group A play against India on June 15 in Lauderhill, Florida.
Led by captain Saad Bin Zafar, the Canadian men qualified for their first T20 World Cup in October, defeating Bermuda by 39 runs to win the four-team ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Americas Region Final.
