One of the most passionate and spirited cricket teams, the Bangladesh cricket team competes in Test cricket, One-Day Internationals (ODIs), and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). Bangladesh played their first Test match in 2000 against India, marking their arrival as the 10th Test-playing nation. Their first ODI was against Pakistan in the 1986 Asia Cup, and they played their first T20I against Zimbabwe in 2006. While their journey began with challenges, Bangladesh has gradually established itself as an aggressive side in world cricket. This was clearly evident in the World Cup games, where they defeated India in 2007 and England in 2015.

Bangladesh Cricket Team Bio
One of the fighters in international cricket, the Bangladesh cricket team is no longer a newcomer to the big cricketing stage. They joined the ICC as an Associate Member in 1977, but the turning point came when they won the 1997 ICC Trophy in Malaysia, which helped them secure a spot in the 1999 ICC Cricket World Cup. Gradually, they also entered Test cricket arena, and in 2000, they played their inaugural Test match against India in Dhaka, becoming the 10th nation to attain Test-playing status.
Over the years, the Tigers have made significant strides in the cricketing world. They are known for their passionate fan base, gritty performances, and a roster of talented players who have left a mark in global tournaments. Notable achievements include reaching the finals of the 2012 and 2016 Asia Cups and the quarterfinals of the 2015 Cricket World Cup.

Shakib Al Hasan
One of the main men of Bangladesh cricket, Shakib Al Hasan, is regarded as one of the greatest all-rounders in cricket history and has been a key figure in Bangladesh cricket for more than a decade. Known for his consistency with both bat and ball, Shakib has played pivotal roles in many of Bangladesh’s victories on the global stage. He became the first cricketer to score 500 runs and take 10 wickets in a single World Cup during the 2019 edition. Shakib’s experience and leadership make him a cornerstone of the team.
Liton Das
Liton Das is one of Bangladesh’s most dependable batters and a regular wicketkeeper for the team. With his ability to score runs at a brisk pace, especially in limited-overs cricket, Liton has been a standout performer for the Tigers and has delivered match-winning performances across formats, especially in ODIs, where he has shown his form consistently.
Najmul Hossain Shanto
Najmul Hossain Shanto, the current captain of the Bangladesh cricket team, is one of the brightest stars in the squad. Known for his composure and technique, Shanto has been a reliable middle-order batter in recent years. His ability to anchor innings and play under pressure has earned him recognition as a leader on and off the field. With a steady rise in form, Shanto is expected to lead Bangladesh to new heights in international cricket.
