From Kolkata Knight Riders to Royal Challengers Bengaluru, check out teams that might target Mohammed Shami in IPL mega auction.
Mohammed Shami did not participated in the last concluded edition of the Indian Premier League.

IPL 2025 Auction: Mohammed Shami has been a force to reckon with in the IPL. Despite playing for several teams in the IPL, Mohammed Shami has time to time proved his worth. Even though Shami missed out in IPL 2024, the express pacer is likely to fetch big bucks in the IPL mega auction if the Gujarat Titans do not retain him. On that note, let us check out 3 teams that might target Mohammed Shami in the IPL 2025 auction.

Teams that might target Mohammed Shami in IPL 2025 auction

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)

In IPL, Mohammed Shami was a part of the KKR camp earlier. However, the right-arm pacer was released soon from the squad. If KKR decides not to retain their premier pacer bowler Mitchell Starc, then there is a possibility of KKR going all out for the pacer. To note, Shami has played most of his domestic cricket at Eden Gardens. This might encourage KKR to bid for Shami in the IPL mega auction.

Punjab Kings (PBKS)

Mohammed Shami had a successful stint with PBKS, finishing as their highest wicket-taker in the 2019 season. His experience and ability to perform in crucial situations could make him an attractive option for PBKS again. Only time will tell if Shami goes back to the Punjab Kings or not.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)

RCB has a history of targeting experienced players, and Shami’s track record could make him a good fit for their bowling lineup. In IPL 2024, RCB bowling unit was the main cause of their downfall. If RCB manages to get Mohd Shami in their camp, then he is likely to create an explosive bowling pair of Mohd Siraj and Shami. However, all of it depends if GT releases the ace pacer before the upcoming IPL mega auction.
