Team vs Family! Rohit Sharma reveals his decision not to stay with MI teammates during IPL 2024 home matches

Former Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Rohit Sharma has been in sensational form in IPL 2024 so far, having mustered 261 runs at an average of 52.2 and at a strike rate of 167.31

Former Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Rohit Sharma has surprised fans with the revelation that he opted to stay at home with his family during the team’s recent home games at Wankhede Stadium.

Speaking on the Club Prairie Fire podcast hosted by Adam Gilchrist, Rohit explained his decision, citing the rare opportunity to spend quality time with loved ones.

“I (Rohit) have got a lot of time on my hands these days. I am spending time with my family and am staying at home actually. The last four matches Mumbai Indians played here (Wankhede). Just going an hour before when we have the team meeting. It’s been good, a little different but good,” Rohit said.

This decision comes after Rohit was removed from his captaincy role before the start of the IPL 2024 season. However, his lack of presence at the team hotel seems to be solely focused on family time. With his busy schedule as the Indian cricket team captain, Rohit rarely gets a chance to be with his loved ones. So, he seized the opportunity presented by four consecutive home games for MI to prioritize his family.
