Team India Victory Parade: Mumbai Police issues advisory, 7 roads closed in SoBo, Parking banned

To avoid traffic congestion, the Mumbai Police strongly encourages the public to use public transport, particularly trains, to reach the parade area.

Get ready to cheer for the Men in Blue! Mumbai is all set to celebrate India’s historic T20 World Cup victory with a grand victory parade on Thursday, July 4th. To ensure smooth sailing for the celebrations, the Mumbai Police have issued a detailed traffic advisory for fans planning to witness the event.

Roads closed for India victory Parade

The victory procession will take place on Marine Drive between Nariman Point and Wankhede Stadium from 5 pm to 7 pm. To accommodate the large crowds expected, traffic police will close seven roads in South Mumbai for vehicular movement. Here’s a breakdown of the affected roads and suggested alternate routes:

  • N S Road (North Bound): Closed from NCPA to Meghdoot Bridge.
    • Alternate: Ramnath Poddar Chowk, Maharshi Karve Road, Ahilyabai Holkar Chowk, Marine Lines, Charni Road, Pandit Paluskar Chowk.
  • N S Road (South Bound): Closed from Meghdoot Bridge to NCPA/Hutatma Rajguru Chowk.
    • Alternate: Take a left turn from Kemps Corner Bridge or RTI Junction to proceed to your desired destination.
  • Veer Nariman Road (North Bound): Closed from Ahilyabai Holkar Chowk to Kilachand Chowk.
    • Alternate: Maharshi Karve Road, Ahilyabai Holkar Chowk, Marine Lines, Charni Road, Pandit Paluskar Chowk.
  • Dinshaw Vacha Road (North Bound): Closed from WIAA Chowk to Ratanlal Babuna Chowk.
    • Alternate: Maharshi Karve Road, Ahilyabai Holkar Chowk, Marine Lines, Charni Road, Pandit Paluskar Chowk.
  • Madam Cama Road (North Bound): Closed from Hutatma Rajguru Chowk to Venutai Chavan Chowk.
    • Alternate: Maharshi Karve Road, Ramnath Poddar Chowk, Ahilyabai Holkar Chowk, Marine Lines, Charni Road, Pandit Paluskar Chowk.
  • Barrister Rajni Patel Marg (North Bound): Closed from Sakhar Bhavan Junction to NS Road.
    • Alternate: Take a right turn from Hotel Trident to Sakhar Bhavan Junction, proceed to Barrister Rajni Patel Marg and Usha Mehta Chowk.
  • Vinay K Shah Marg (North Bound): Closed from Jamanalal Bajaj Marg to Murali Deora Chowk and NS Road.
    • Alternate: Ramnath Goenka Marg to Sakhar Bhavan Junction, then Barrister Rajni Patel Marg and Free Press Circle.

Parking Restrictions

For smooth traffic flow, parking will be banned from morning to night on ten roads around the parade route. These include N S Road, Veer Nariman Road, Madam Cama Road, Free Press Marg, Dinshaw Vacha Road, Maharshi Karve Road, Barrister Rajni Patel Marg, Ramnath Goenka Marg, Vinay K Shah Road, and Jamanalal Bajaj Marg (except for Vidhan Bhavan members).

Fans are advised to arrive early, preferably before 4:30 pm, and assemble on the promenade side of Marine Drive to avoid last-minute rush. Ample security arrangements are in place to ensure a safe and joyous celebration.
