India players sweat it out!

On the eve of their tournament-opener against Ireland, the entire team is taking a net session. This is India’s second consecutive training session that included none other than Virat Kohli. The modern-day master arrived late in USA and even missed the warmup clash against Bangladesh.

Team India press conference when?

With the Ireland clash ever so close, the designated time for Team India’s press conference, potentially headed by skipper Rohit Sharma was supposed to start at 8:45 P.M. IST. However there have been no updates for the same as of yet.

Rohit on Nassau Pitch

Rohit Sharma has opined his views on what could be a par score at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York. The Indian skipper feels that 140-150 might be good total at the ‘drop-in’ pitch that has come from Adelaide.

An emotional adieu to coach Dravid?

“We have not thought about it. My equation with him goes a long way back. I played under him. Such a big role model for all of us. We know what he achieved. He has shown a lot of determination in his career. I have enjoyed every bit of it,” Rohit Sharma said. This has come after Rahul Dravid himself revealed that the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 will be his last assignment as the head coach of the Indian men’s team.

Rohit and co. buzzing in USA!

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma is buzzing about the T20 World Cup in the USA. He says the team feels the excitement from locals and is eager to experience a new venue. While they’ve played in Florida before, this is their first time on this specific stage. Rohit sees it as a positive step for cricket’s growth in the USA.

Rohit on terror threat and security of players!

Rohit Sharma emphasized on elevated security in USA, following a security threat and a fan breaching security during a warm-up game vs Bangladesh. Stressing the importance of player and fan safety, he highlighted the need to follow security protocols. The high-profile matches of India might see increased security measures, including possible snipers deployment. “No one should go inside the ground. Players’ security is important. Even security of fans is important. You have to respect the rule for a particular country,” Rohit Sharma.

How many spinners should India play in their XI?

Over the decades, Team India have had the luxury of choosing best of spinners as per the conditions. Similar is the situation currently as well, with all four of Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel and Yuzvendra Chahal in the squad. Upon asking the spin combination, Rohit said, “I don’t know if we can play all four spinners together. It’s good to have options. All three spinners bowled well against Bangladesh. Bowled couple of overs each“.
