India Cricket Team went on to pile-up the highest team score in the history of Cricket World Cup knock-out matches against New Zealand on Wednesday. To note, the Men in Blue posted 397 runs after losing just four wickets in their allotted 50 overs against the Kiwis. As a result, India Cricket team has now topped the list leaving behind New Zealand’s score of 393 runs against the West Indies during the 2015 World Cup quarter final.

Speaking about the innings, India Cricket Team won the toss and opted to have a bat first on a good-looking Wankhede track. Openers Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma gave another emphatic start to their side. Skipper Rohit was the first one to depart as his opposite number completed a brilliant catch.
After the fall of Rohit, Kohli joined Gill as both batters ensured that team India remains on top. However, Gill then suffered an injury forcing him to leave the crease. Shreyas Iyer then joined Kohli in the middle as both batters completed their respective centuries. Some late blitz from KL Rahul ensured that team India went on to amass 397 runs in their allotted 50 overs.
Meanwhile, New Zealand requires 398 runs to stop India from entering the final’s of the ongoing World Cup. India’s bowling has been top notch in the competition and it will require a huge effort from the Kiwi batters to complete the chase.
