The recently concluded India vs England Test series was special in a lot of ways. The manner in which youngsters stepped up and made the most of the opportunities they got, was heartening to see. Now, this means, Rohit Sharma & Co. have reclaimed their status as the World No. 1 Test team, after surpassing Australia, as per the latest ICC Rankings. Team India now has 122 rating points, with Australia at 117, and England at 111. That’s not it. India is guaranteed to remain at the top of the rankings, notwithstanding the result of the second AUS vs NZ Test, that is currently happening at Christchurch.
India on Top in All Three Formats
This means that India is at the top of the rankings in all the formats, The lead the ODI table with 121 points, with Australia t close second at 118 points. Whereas in the T20Is, India have 266 rating points, with England a distant second at 256 points.
This is also not the first time that India has topped the charts in all the three formats, with teams leading the way in all three from September 2023 to January 20224. If that’s not enough, India also tops the ICC World Test Championship Standings table, with a points percentage of 68.51.
