Team India jets off to Rajkot for IND vs AUS 3rd ODI

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will join the group in Rajkot.

KL Rahul-led side has arrived in Rajkot for India vs Australia, IND vs AUS 3rd ODI. The team is not accompanied by Shubman Gill and Shardul Thakur as they will sit out the last ODI against Australia in Rajkot at the request of the management. The star duo will join the team in Guwahati, where India will begin their ODI World Cup 2023 campaign.

The workload management has been planned by the team management for some time. It caused Indian captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to miss the opening two ODIs. Both senior players will join the group in Rajkot.

Due to rest, Jasprit Bumrah did not play in the second ODI. The team management allowed him to see his family and take a brief break, the BCCI had tweeted. Fast bowler Mukesh Kumar replaced Bumrah in the lineup for the second ODI. For the IND vs AUS 3rd ODI in Rajkot, Bumrah will available.

Due to their nine-city schedule, the Indian team’s World Cup campaign would be extensive. The team management has been seeking for strategies to keep their players fresh leading up to the significant ICC competition.

Using the Duckworth-Lewis Method (DRS), India defeated Australia by 99 runs in the second one-day international. Brilliant tons were made by Shreyas Iyer and Shubman Gill, and spin twins Ravindra Jadeja and Ashwin each took three wickets.

The Rajkot pitch is anticipated to be a batting belter, similar to how the two matches at Mohali and Indore played out. With the bat in hand, India has been entirely in control thanks to runs from players like Gill, KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, and Kishan. Iyer’s performance is a huge lift for India as they finally try to solve the problem with the number 4 spot.

Iyer will bat at position number four with Rohit and Kohli expected to resume their top positions. However, because Suryakumar Yadav is back to scoring runs, head coach Rahul Dravid will be experiencing some difficulties.
