Team India Injury Update: India Squad Bangladesh Series: India Squad NZ Series: Chetan Sharma addressed a rare press conference and all he had to offer was injury updates. Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja and Deepak Chahar are all injured. While Deepak Chahar is set for NewZealand tour, Ravindra Jadeja is expected to return for the Bangladesh tour. But the wait is longer for Jasprit Bumrah. He will be out at least till February. Bumrah is only expected to return for the Australia series. Chahar and Jadeja will appear for a fitness test at the NCA before Bangladesh series. Follow India vs Bangladesh LIVE & IND vs NZ LIVE Updates on InsideSport.IN.

Chetan Sharma finally admitted that Jasprit Bumrah was rushed to return ahead of the T20 World Cup. As a result, Team India paid a hefty price. He has missed the all-important T20 World Cup, currently ongoing in Australia. Chahar too suffered a back injury and was ruled out of T20 WC.

Jasprit Bumrah Injury Update: Currently recovering, Jasprit Bumrah is set to spend on the sidelines longer. He will be out of action till February. He has a recurrence of lower back injury. It is his chronic injury that saw him miss 7 months of action in 2018-19.

“We need to manage players. We need to look at the workload management of players and we take it very seriously. The NCA medical team is looking after Bumrah very well. He will definitely be part of the side against Australia. We do not want to rush things with him this time as we did before. So we’ve been cautious with him for the Bangladesh series. He will be back soon,” Chetan Sharma said.

Ravindra Jadeja Injury Update: Another big miss in T20 WC is Ravindra Jadeja. After pulling out of the Asia Cup midway, he had to undergo knee surgery. Jadeja aggravated his knee injury after a training mishap in Dubai while at the Asia Cup. He is set to return against Bangladesh. However, before that, Jadeja will need to pass a fitness test at the NCA. He has resumed rehab at the NCA.

Chetan Sharma said he is “currently under the observation of the BCCI medical team” at the NCA. His inclusion in Bangladesh tour will be subject to his fitness.

Deepak Chahar Injury Update: Deepak Chahar has also been included in the squad for NewZealand tour. However, he will also need to pass the fitness test. Chahar also had a recurrence of back injury. While it did rule him out of the T20 World Cup, he has now recovered. As per information available with InsideSport, he will go back to NCA next week for a fitness test. The players will leave for New Zealand on November 14, a day after T20 WC final.3
